ERROR_SXS_XML_E_INCOMPLETE_ENCODING
ERROR_SXS_XML_E_INCOMPLETE_ENCODING — The XML manifest ended while a character encoding sequence was incomplete.
The parser reached end of file in the middle of an encoded character sequence. This usually means that the manifest was truncated, corrupted, or written with an encoding declaration that does not match its bytes.
Reacquire or regenerate the entire manifest. A one-character edit may hide the symptom while leaving the package inconsistent.
What to check
- Check the file size and deployment path against the original package.
- Verify that the manifest was transferred and written atomically by the installer.
- Validate the declared encoding and reproduce the parse with sxstrace.
