ERROR_INSTALL_CANCEL
ERROR_INSTALL_CANCEL means the deployment request was cancelled before completion. It is a terminal status for that operation, but it does not identify who or what initiated the cancellation.
Use the deployment log to distinguish a user cancellation from shutdown, session termination, policy, or an automation timeout.
What to check
- Inspect the Activity ID log for the first cancellation-related event and its timestamp.
- Check whether the user signed out, the device restarted, or deployment orchestration stopped the task.
- Retry only after the reason for cancellation is understood; otherwise the next operation can be cancelled in the same way.
