Weighted median filtering selects a median after samples have been assigned multiplicities or weights. The relevant IPP primitive requires an odd weight parameter and replaces an even value with an odd one. The output is therefore computed with an effective parameter different from the caller's request.

This matters around edges and isolated color outliers, where changing one replicated weight can change which sample occupies the median rank.

Diagnostic checklist

Log the requested weight and the effective value defined by the exact function.
Validate that initialization and execution use the same weight.
Check whether the caller confused a radius, mask size, and sample weight.
Do not suppress the warning when deterministic equivalence with another implementation is required.
