EL3RST

Reset and halt are separate legacy states

EL3RST occupies errno value 40 in Solaris-compatible headers. Oracle identifies it as Level 3 reset. The catalog does not attach this code to a current Solaris syscall, and POSIX does not standardize it, so the label should be used as a decoder for a legacy interface rather than expanded into an invented modern network diagnosis.

The closest named value, EL3HLT, says level 3 was halted. A reset can imply that state was re-established or reinitialized by the producer's protocol, whereas a halt records a stopped state. The exact recovery behavior belongs to the originating implementation.
