ERROR_CLUSTER_OWNER_NOT_IN_PREFLIST
Failover Clustering enforces the configured possible and preferred owners for a resource group. The target node may be healthy, but the role cannot be brought online there until ownership preferences are consistent with the intended design.
What to check
- Review the role or resource group owner list and its current owner.
- Check whether a recent node removal, maintenance workflow, or hardware change left the owner preferences outdated.
- Change ownership preferences only as part of a controlled role-placement plan; do not remove restrictions merely to bypass the error.
