STATUS_OPLOCK_HANDLE_CLOSED
The oplock ended because its handle closed
This status indicates a lifetime transition: the handle that carried the oplock was closed. The file might still exist and other handles might be valid, but this specific oplock association can no longer be used.
The failure mode to look for is stale oplock state retained after cleanup or close processing, especially in network redirectors, file-system filters, or applications that use overlapped oplock requests.
What to inspect
- Check IRP_MJ_CLEANUP and IRP_MJ_CLOSE ordering for the handle.
- Cancel pending oplock wait or break operations tied to the closed handle.
- Distinguish handle closure from an access-denied or sharing-denied open.
