ERROR_DS_CONFIG_PARAM_MISSING
Directory Services could not find a configuration parameter required for startup
AD DS startup combines directory metadata with local service configuration. This code indicates that initialization expected a local configuration parameter and did not find it; it is not the same as an LDAP object missing an attribute. The secondary status and nearby Directory Service event normally identify the component or startup phase that requested the value.
Avoid inventing or copying registry values from another domain controller based only on this code. First preserve the event details, compare the service configuration with a healthy DC of the same supported version, and check whether an incomplete promotion, rollback, servicing operation, or unsupported manual cleanup preceded the failure. If the database itself is intact, DSRM or offline recovery can provide a safer diagnostic environment than repeated normal boots.
