PLA_E_PLA_CHANNEL_NOT_ENABLED

PLA uses its Operational channel as part of diagnosable execution

PLA_E_PLA_CHANNEL_NOT_ENABLED identifies the disabled Microsoft-Windows-Diagnosis-PLA/Operational channel. Certain PLA workflows require this channel to record or consume state needed for diagnostics and report processing.

Check the channel configuration with Event Viewer or wevtutil, enable it using the normal administrative policy, and preserve its retention settings. Enabling an unrelated Application log does not satisfy this requirement. If policy disables the channel again, correct the policy source rather than toggling the local state after every failure.

Channel configuration to verify

  • Enabled state of the exact PLA Operational channel.
  • Owning Group Policy or baseline setting.
  • Channel access descriptor and log-file path.
  • Events written during the next controlled reproduction.
