FVE_E_WRONG_BOOTSECTOR

FVE_E_WRONG_BOOTSECTOR means the boot sector on the system partition is not compatible with the TPM measurement flow used by BitLocker. It commonly follows a damaged or nonstandard startup environment.

What to check

  • Distinguish the system partition from the Windows operating-system partition before making changes.
  • Keep the recovery password available before using Windows Recovery Environment to diagnose startup files.
  • After a legitimate boot repair, expect BitLocker to require recovery once while the new measured state is established.
