FVE_E_WRONG_SYSTEM_FS
FVE_E_WRONG_SYSTEM_FS means BitLocker cannot encrypt the Windows operating-system volume because it is not formatted as NTFS. The filesystem must be corrected before BitLocker can protect that OS volume.
What to check
- Confirm you selected the Windows OS volume rather than the separate EFI or system partition.
- Plan any filesystem conversion or migration as a storage change, with tested backup and recovery.
- Do not reformat an OS volume simply to resolve the HRESULT; preserve or migrate the installation first.
