FWP_E_INVALID_DNS_NAME
FWP_E_INVALID_DNS_NAME means the policy supplied an invalid DNS name where WFP expected a DNS identity.
What to verify
- Use a syntactically valid DNS name without unsupported characters or malformed labels.
- Make sure the policy field expects a DNS identity rather than an IP address, URI, or display name.
- Check the final normalized name sent to the API, especially when configuration is assembled from user input or certificates.
Microsoft: capture IPsec events with netsh wfp
