NS_E_PDA_ENCODER_NOT_RESPONDING

The selected transcoder stopped responding

NS_E_PDA_ENCODER_NOT_RESPONDING (0xC00D1192) occurs after Windows Media Player has chosen a conversion path but the encoder does not make expected progress or return normally. It is not the same as “no supported conversion exists.”

Capture the stalled conversion

Record encoder/codec identity, source media properties, target profile, conversion start time, last progress callback, CPU/I/O activity, and any nested HRESULT. Preserve the exact file that reproduces the stall.

Controlled comparison

Transcode the same file with the same profile outside the full sync queue, then compare with one known-good file using that encoder. If only one source stalls, investigate its media stream; if all sources stall, repair or replace the encoder path. Clearing the device partnership does not address a nonresponsive encoder.
