NS_E_NO_AUDIODATA
NS_E_NO_AUDIODATA: the failing boundary
NS_E_NO_AUDIODATA (0xC00D1B89) means No audio data has been received for several seconds. Check the audio source and restart the encoder. The important boundary is audio capture flow; do not replace this result with a broader “Windows Media failed” diagnosis.
What this result proves
This code proves that the encoder opened the audio path but received no audio samples for several seconds. It does not, by itself, prove a codec, permissions, network, device, or media problem outside that boundary. Preserve the first lower-level result when one exists, because later Player or Encoder errors can hide the original cause.
Evidence and focused verification
Record device clock, sample counters, mute/routing state, and last sample timestamp; verify samples arrive before changing codec or output settings. Keep the media object, endpoint, profile, or device identity fixed while changing only that rejected precondition. A successful retest should pass this exact boundary; a different HRESULT from a later stage is new evidence, not recurrence of NS_E_NO_AUDIODATA.
