ERROR_UNABLE_TO_INVENTORY_SLOT ERROR_TRANSPORT_FULL

ERROR_UNABLE_TO_INVENTORY_TRANSPORT

The robotic changer transport could not be inventoried

The transport or picker moves cartridges among slots, drives and the insert/eject port. If its status cannot be retrieved, RSM cannot safely schedule movements even when individual media and drives appear valid. This differs from transport-full, where the mechanism is known to be carrying or using a medium; here the status query itself failed.

Inspect changer connectivity, firmware and hardware logs, and place the library in a stable state before rerunning inventory. Pending mount, inject or eject requests may need to be canceled if their physical outcome is uncertain. Use the library panel to confirm whether the picker holds media before allowing new robotic moves.

What to inspect

  • Check changer and transport operational state.
  • Determine whether the picker currently holds a cartridge.
  • Cancel or reconcile requests whose movement outcome is unknown.
