E_ADS_PROPERTY_MODIFIED

E_ADS_PROPERTY_MODIFIED is a dirty-state signal for an ADSI object. It is especially important around GetInfo, because Microsoft documents that GetInfo reloads attributes from the directory and can overwrite changes already made in the local cache but not yet committed with SetInfo.

Do not refresh over uncommitted cache changes

The sequence of ADSI cache calls is part of application correctness. A common failure pattern is modify → read another property → implicit or explicit refresh → later commit, which can lose the earlier cached change. Microsoft recommends committing changes before refreshing. If this status appears unexpectedly, inspect helper functions that call GetInfo internally and treat cache refresh as a state-changing operation, not a harmless read.
