VDS_E_LBN_REMAP_ENABLED_FLAG

VDS_VF_LBN_REMAP_ENABLED is a provider capability flag for allowing dynamic relocation of a volume on disk. Microsoft documents it as unsupported for basic or Microsoft dynamic volumes and supported only by some third-party volume managers. This HRESULT therefore identifies a provider capability mismatch, not an invalid Boolean value or a damaged volume.

Why this state matters

Before setting volume flags, determine which VDS provider owns the volume and which storage model is in use. Copying a flag mask from a different provider or product can cause this error even when the volume itself is healthy. Do not replace the flag with HIDDEN, READONLY, or another attribute: those flags have different semantics and different scope rules.
