VDS_E_DYNAMIC_DISKS_NOT_SUPPORTED
Dynamic disks are a Logical Disk Manager/VDS storage model that permits noncontiguous extents and multi-disk volumes. They are distinct from basic partitioned disks and from newer Storage Spaces. The VDS error catalog explicitly treats unsupported operating-system or server configuration as a hard capability boundary; it also documents cluster restrictions for this legacy dynamic-disk path.
Why this state matters
Before attempting conversion or dynamic-volume creation, identify the machine role, clustering context, and VDS software provider. A pair of writable fixed disks is not sufficient evidence that dynamic disks are supported. Do not work around the result by manually writing LDM metadata or repeatedly converting the same disk. Choose a supported storage-management model for the current platform.

- Confirm the requested operation actually requires a dynamic disk or dynamic volume.
- Record operating-system and cluster/server configuration.
- Identify the VDS software provider and current disk type.
