VDS_E_MULTIPLE_DISCOVERY_DOMAINS
VDS_E_MULTIPLE_DISCOVERY_DOMAINS means VDS expected an unambiguous discovery-domain association but iSNS reports the initiator in several domains. Multiple memberships can expose different target sets and make a single policy result undefined.
Resolve the discovery scope explicitly
- List all iSNS discovery domains containing the initiator.
- Determine which domain is authoritative for the intended storage fabric.
- Remove accidental memberships or change the workflow to select a domain explicitly where supported.
Do not choose the first returned domain; enumeration order is not a policy. Before changing membership, record which targets and portal groups each domain exposes so access is not unintentionally removed. iSNS discovery controls visibility, while actual iSCSI authentication and LUN masking remain separate controls.
