VDS_E_ISCSI_SET_IKE_INFO
This code is the write-side counterpart to VDS_E_ISCSI_GET_IKE_INFO: VDS reached a failure while setting IKE-related information for the iSCSI management path. The published error definition does not say whether validation, initiator service, provider communication, or a security backend rejected the update. Any narrower diagnosis needs lower-level evidence.
Why this state matters
This distinction matters because VDS exposes CHAP secrets through explicit iSCSI shared-secret methods, while its public IPsec methods include interfaces documented as unsupported/reserved. A CHAP configuration problem and a legacy IKE-information update failure are not interchangeable even if both occur during secure target setup.

- Capture the exact VDS security operation and the target/portal objects involved before retrying the update.
- Check support for the called VDS IPsec surface on the operating-system/provider combination; unsupported APIs should not be retried as transient failures.
