STATUS_DS_NO_MORE_RIDS
The domain RID space is exhausted
This is more severe than one DC lacking a local RID block. It indicates exhaustion of the available domain RID pool, which blocks creation of new users, computers and groups that require unique SIDs.
RID exhaustion is a forest/domain integrity issue. Microsoft documents dedicated diagnostic and recovery steps for domains that have exhausted their global RID pool; it should not be handled as a routine retry or by restoring an old DC snapshot.
What to inspect
- Stop automated account creation jobs until the source of RID consumption is understood.
- Inspect RID Master state, replication health and RID pool allocation history.
- Follow vendor-supported RID recovery guidance rather than inventing SID values.
