STATUS_COMMITMENT_MINIMUM
The system is temporarily below its desired commit reserve
This status accompanies low-virtual-memory handling in which Windows attempts to enlarge a system-managed page file. Allocations can fail or pause while capacity is being added. It is an early warning about commit headroom rather than proof that the current process exhausted physical RAM.
Correlate the event with commit charge, page-file growth latency, and disk free space. Repeated episodes indicate that the workload regularly approaches the limit or that automatic growth starts too small. Pre-sizing may reduce latency, but sustained unexplained commit growth still requires leak analysis.
What to inspect
- Measure commit charge and limit before, during, and after page-file expansion.
- Check storage latency and free contiguous space on the paging-file volume.
- Identify the processes or kernel allocations responsible for the rising commit baseline.
