The debugger request made no state transition
This error indicates that a debugger command expected to alter process, thread, or event state, but the state remained unchanged. The request may have been redundant, rejected for the current state, or applied to an object that no longer owns the active debug event.
The safest response is to resynchronize with the current event and object state. Repeating the same command without checking ownership can create a busy loop or conceal a lost event.
What to inspect
- Record the requested transition and the state observed before and after the call.
- Verify that the target process and thread still exist and remain attached to the debugger.
- Check whether another debugger action already performed the requested transition.
- Avoid retry loops until the outstanding event and continuation ownership are known.
