STATUS_CTX_WD_NOT_FOUND
The Terminal Connection driver was not found
This status means the configured WinStation or Terminal Connection driver cannot be located. The Remote Desktop listener may exist, but the session host lacks the component needed to back the connection.
Do not treat it as a simple network timeout. Network reachability can be perfect while the server cannot create the terminal session because a server-side RDS component is missing or misregistered.
What to inspect
- Validate installed RDS components and listener registrations.
- Check system-file integrity or component-store health after cleanup tools or failed updates.
- Compare behavior across listeners and after restarting TermService.
