MF_E_INVALID_TIMESTAMP means that a component rejected a presentation time, seek position, or related time value. The code does not identify the correct timeline automatically.
Inspect the time domain
- Log the supplied value, its units, the previous and next sample times, and whether the operation is seek, rate control, or sample delivery.
- Use the time format required by the API; Media Foundation presentation times are commonly expressed in 100-nanosecond units.
- When generating samples, keep timestamps consistent with stream order and explicitly mark discontinuities where the pipeline expects them.
Do not repair this by silently substituting zero unless zero is a valid time for the specific source and operation.
