MF_E_UNSUPPORTED_RATE_TRANSITION
MF_E_UNSUPPORTED_RATE_TRANSITION means that the requested rate might be supported in isolation, but the transition from the current state or direction is not. For example, changing direction can require the session to be stopped first.
Respect the transport state
- Track whether the session is started, paused, stopped, or completing another asynchronous command.
- Apply the state transition required by the source or session before requesting the new rate.
- Serialize rate, seek, start, pause, and stop operations so a stale callback does not issue an incompatible transition.
This differs from MF_E_UNSUPPORTED_RATE: the rate may be valid, but not at this point in the state machine.
