MF_E_TOPO_MISSING_SOURCE

MF_E_TOPO_MISSING_SOURCE means a source-stream topology node has no media source object attached. The topology loader cannot resolve a stream branch from presentation and stream descriptors alone.

Attach the source object when constructing every source node

Set MF_TOPONODE_SOURCE to the IMFMediaSource that produced the presentation descriptor.
Set the matching presentation descriptor and selected stream descriptor on the same node.
Check COM lifetime: releasing the application's reference is safe only after the node holds its own attribute reference and the topology owns the node.

This error is about topology metadata, not an unreachable URL or missing input file. If source resolution had failed earlier, there would be no valid media source to use; here the source node itself is missing the required object.
