MF_E_TRANSFORM_EXATTRIBUTE_NOT_SUPPORTED

MF_E_TRANSFORM_EXATTRIBUTE_NOT_SUPPORTED concerns propagation of attributes from input samples to output samples. The MFT sample model assigns that responsibility either to the transform or to its client.

Determine who owns sample-attribute propagation

Query MFPKEY_EXATTRIBUTE_SUPPORTED through IPropertyStore when the transform exposes it.
If the value is VARIANT_FALSE or the property is absent, the client should copy applicable input-sample attributes without overwriting attributes set by the MFT.
Do not request this transform-managed behavior for asynchronous MFTs; Microsoft documents that the property does not apply to them.

Attributes such as discontinuity markers can carry stream semantics, so simply dropping all attributes is not a safe workaround. At the same time, blindly copying every attribute after the transform has written output metadata can overwrite transform-specific results. Follow the ownership rule for the active MFT model.
