MF_E_COMPONENT_REVOKED

MF_E_COMPONENT_REVOKED belongs to the Protected Media Path trust model. In a protected environment, signed components are checked against revocation information before they are allowed to participate in the premium-content pipeline.

Identify the component that failed trust validation

Preserve the first protected-media HRESULT and the component-loading context; a later topology or playback failure can hide the original trust result.
When revocation details are available, record the component name, header hash, public-key hash, and revocation reason. The documented MFRR_COMPONENT_HASH_INFO structure carries exactly those fields.
Compare the failing binary with the installed, serviced version instead of copying an older DLL into the application directory.

This is different from a missing codec. Revocation is a trust decision: installing another decoder or rebuilding an ordinary topology does not make the rejected component trusted. The relevant remediation path is component renewal or replacement with a valid trusted version.
