STATUS_ACPI_INVALID_ARGUMENT
STATUS_ACPI_INVALID_ARGUMENT means that AML evaluation required an argument that was not supplied or could not be used as an argument at that point. ACPI control methods use a defined calling convention and AML operators have defined operand forms. The status concerns argument presence, not whether a supplied value has the correct type.
That distinction matters in diagnosis. STATUS_ACPI_INCORRECT_ARGUMENT_COUNT describes a count mismatch, while STATUS_ACPI_INVALID_ARGTYPE describes an argument of the wrong kind. An absent argument should be traced back to the caller or to a conditional AML path that did not create it.
A required AML argument was missing
- Identify the exact control method or AML operator and record every evaluated argument before the failure.
- Check the call site and conditional branches that may omit an optional-looking value even though the method signature requires it.
- Do not infer a hardware fault from this status alone; it is an AML invocation contract failure.
