Frequency is part of a complete timing model
A display timing is not just a refresh-rate label such as “60 Hz”. Pixel clock, horizontal and vertical totals, active regions, blanking, sync parameters, and scan type describe a signal together. This status means the frequency fields supplied to the VidPN operation are invalid in that timing model.
It should not be diagnosed by rounding a requested refresh rate blindly. A nominal mode can be close to 59.94, 60, or another rational timing while still requiring internally consistent clock and total-region values.
Validate the complete timing
- Log pixel clock, horizontal and vertical totals, active dimensions, scan type, and requested vertical frequency.
- Compare the timing against the target’s advertised capabilities and the driver’s accepted target modes.
- Check calculation units and integer conversions before changing monitor range constraints.
