STATUS_GRAPHICS_INVALID_VIDPN_TARGETMODESET
Target modes model the signal delivered to an output
A target mode set belongs to a video present target and contains supported video signal formats for that target under the current VidPN constraints. This status identifies an invalid target mode-set object or invalid use of that object, not a generic “unsupported monitor mode” answer.
Target mode sets depend on topology and choices on related paths. A target set can become obsolete when a display is reconfigured, hot-plug information changes, or the driver replaces the set during cofunctional mode enumeration.
What to record
- Record target ID, target mode-set handle, connected-child state, and selected target mode.
- Check that the set was acquired from the correct VidPN and is still current when used.
- Keep EDID parsing failures separate from a valid but unavailable target mode-set object.
