STATUS_GRAPHICS_OPM_INVALID_HANDLE
STATUS_GRAPHICS_OPM_INVALID_HANDLE is a lifetime and identity error for the OPM user-mode handle. It does not identify a bad VCP command, an unsupported HDCP capability, or a damaged monitor. The protected-output object referenced by the caller is not valid in the current OPM session.
Handles become unsafe to reuse when a protected output is destroyed, when a display path is rebuilt, or when application ownership and teardown are not synchronized. A raw numeric handle must not be treated as a permanent identifier for a monitor or connector.
What to do with the result
- Discard the handle and re-enumerate the active output before creating a replacement protected-output object.
- Serialize close/recreate work against threads that issue OPM status or configuration calls.
- Keep a separate stable diagnostic key, such as adapter and connector identity, rather than logging only the opaque handle value.
