STATUS_GRAPHICS_PVP_INVALID_CERTIFICATE_LENGTH
The protected-output certificate length is invalid
STATUS_GRAPHICS_PVP_INVALID_CERTIFICATE_LENGTH is a Windows NTSTATUS value from the graphics/display facility. In this group, the status is tied to protected video output, OPM/COPP compatibility, PVP certificate validation, output-protection hardware, or the monitor configuration path.
PVP-OPM uses a certificate exchange while initializing a protected output. The display miniport driver exposes a certificate through the OPM certificate DDI, and the caller must provide a buffer with the size expected by the protocol. This status means the certificate length does not match what the path can accept.
A length failure usually points to a sizing or driver contract problem, not to an HDCP link negotiation problem. Check the certificate-size query, the allocation size used for the certificate buffer, and whether the driver reports the same certificate type and size consistently across calls.
What to check
- Log the requested certificate type, required size, supplied buffer size, and returned byte count.
- Verify the two-step size/query sequence before parsing the certificate.
- Do not continue with OPM session initialization after a certificate-length mismatch.
