STATUS_NDIS_INVALID_PACKET

The packet or its associated metadata is invalid before transmission

STATUS_NDIS_INVALID_PACKET is a data-path contract failure. It indicates that the packet presented to the network interface cannot be processed as a valid send request; it does not establish that the remote endpoint, route, or physical medium is unavailable.

For modern NDIS paths, inspect the complete request representation rather than just payload bytes: buffer boundaries, offsets and lengths, packet metadata, checksum or offload fields, and ownership lifetime can all determine whether a miniport accepts the request.

Evidence that narrows it
