E_IMAPI_DF2RAW_WRITE_IN_PROGRESS reports a lifecycle conflict on IDiscFormat2RawCD. WriteMedia is a synchronous DAO-96 write operation, while progress is delivered through raw-CD events. A second write or incompatible control path cannot be started on the same format object until the current write has ended.

Correlate every raw write with one active operation

Record the first WriteMedia or WriteMedia2 call and the job that owns the format object.
Serialize UI, worker and event-driven paths that share the same IDiscFormat2RawCD instance.
Use CancelWrite to cancel the current operation instead of probing state with another write.

This HRESULT does not mean that the disc contains previous sessions or that the media is non-blank; those conditions have separate raw-format errors. If no write should be active, inspect duplicate job dispatch and reentrant event handling. Preserve the final HRESULT from the original write so a later state error does not hide the actual device or streaming failure that ended the burn.
