E_IMAPI_DF2RAW_WRITE_NOT_IN_PROGRESS
E_IMAPI_DF2RAW_WRITE_NOT_IN_PROGRESS is the inverse raw-writer state error. A request such as cancellation expects an active DAO operation, but the IDiscFormat2RawCD object is not currently writing. Because WriteMedia is synchronous, completion of the calling method is a clear boundary for write activity.
Check for late cancellation and failed-start races
- Timestamp raw-write entry and return together with the final HRESULT.
- Tag cancel requests with the same burn-job identifier so a late request can be ignored after completion.
- If the write never became active, inspect
PrepareMedia, stream and recorder errors that occurred first.
Media can still be prepared and exclusively locked even when no write is active. That is a separate session state released with ReleaseMedia. Do not infer from this code that cleanup is complete. Diagnose write activity and prepared-media state independently, especially on exception paths where a failed WriteMedia is followed by unconditional cancellation and release logic.
