What does Intel IPP status -120 (ippStsInvalidCryptoKeyErr) mean?

Previous Next
ippStsPaddingSchemeErr ippStsLengthErr

ippStsInvalidCryptoKeyErr

This status should be treated as a key-validation failure, not as a generic memory or buffer-size problem. IPP uses it when the requested cryptographic operation is suspended because the key material is invalid or compromised for the selected primitive.

The important diagnostic boundary is between representation and trust. A key can be stored in the expected byte length and still be rejected because it violates algorithm-specific constraints, domain parameters, or library checks.
