Persistent configuration changed; runtime state did not
Cluster resource properties are nonvolatile configuration, but a running resource DLL does not necessarily reconfigure every private property dynamically. This status distinguishes successful storage of property values from immediate application to the online resource instance.
The change is therefore not lost. Determine which property was modified and whether its resource type requires an Offline and Online cycle. Treating the status as a failed write can cause scripts to overwrite or repeatedly toggle a value that is already stored.
What to inspect
- Read the resource parameters back from cluster configuration to confirm the intended value was stored.
- Consult the resource type documentation to determine whether the property is dynamic or requires resource restart.
- Plan the offline/online cycle with dependency and role impact in mind; a provider resource can affect dependent resources.
