ERROR_NOT_QUORUM_CLASS
The resource class is incompatible with quorum-device use
This status is more specific than a generic resource failure. The cluster is rejecting the resource class for quorum use. In quorum designs that rely on a disk witness, the selected storage must satisfy cluster shared-storage requirements; a local or unrelated resource cannot substitute for it.
Do not change a resource type name or registry data to bypass the check. Quorum relies on supported arbitration and access behavior, so the remedy is to select a valid witness configuration for the cluster topology.
What to inspect
- Inspect the current quorum mode and determine whether the intended design should use disk, file share, or cloud witness.
- For shared storage, run cluster validation and confirm visibility from the required nodes.
- Use the supported quorum configuration tools to select the witness; do not repurpose an application disk without validating its role and storage design.
