WU_E_WU_DISABLED
WU_E_WU_DISABLED means the client is not allowed to use an unmanaged update server. This commonly occurs when enterprise policy requires the device to use its managed update source instead of directly contacting public Windows Update.
What to check
- Verify which update service the caller selected and whether it is allowed by policy.
- Confirm the managed WSUS or Windows Update for Business configuration is complete and reachable.
- For diagnostics, keep the update source consistent; switching between managed and unmanaged services can make results misleading.
