The changer transport cannot access the cartridge
This error is about the path through the robotic library, not the logical-media identifier or media format. A cartridge can be valid and compatible but unreachable because its slot is obstructed, the changer cannot move to the location, the door or port is in the wrong state, or inventory no longer matches actual placement.
Inspect changer and transport status and compare the cartridge location with a fresh inventory. Check for a cartridge left in a drive or insert/eject port, a jammed picker, or an open library door. Hardware service may be required when the transport repeatedly fails on multiple media at the same location.
What to inspect
- Record the source slot, destination and changer request.
- Run inventory only after the library is mechanically stable.
- Check changer diagnostics for picker, door and slot-position errors.
