No storage slot is reserved for cleaner media
Cleaner injection, ejection and automated cleaning workflows use a dedicated slot reservation. Without that reservation, RSM cannot distinguish the cleaner location from ordinary data-media storage or manage the cleaner lifecycle consistently. This is a configuration state, not proof that the library lacks a compatible cleaning cartridge.
Choose a slot supported by the library, reserve it for cleaner use and then inject or place a valid cleaner cartridge. If a reservation was recently removed or the database was restored, inventory the library and rebuild the reservation before retrying cleaning operations.
What to inspect
- Select an empty compatible storage slot.
- Reserve the slot through the RSM cleaner API.
- Inventory and confirm the cleaner occupies the reserved location.
