ERROR_NO_SUPPORTING_DRIVES
The cartridge is known, but no usable compatible drive exists
RSM can retain an offline media record even when the system no longer has a drive capable of reading that cartridge type. Bringing the cartridge into a library does not solve the problem if every compatible drive is absent, disabled or not part of the target library. This status differs from drive-media mismatch, where a suitable drive may exist but the caller selected the wrong pairing.
Enumerate drive types and media-type support across online libraries. Enable or service a compatible drive, attach a library that supports the cartridge, or move the recovery task to another RSM system with suitable hardware. Verify the media type from its record and OMID rather than guessing from the cartridge label alone.
What to inspect
- Identify the recorded media type of the offline cartridge.
- Enumerate enabled drives that support that type.
- Use another compatible library or system if none are available.
