TPM_20_E_FAILURE
TPM_20_E_FAILURE maps to TPM_RC_FAILURE. The TPM is not accepting commands because it has entered a failure condition. This is categorically different from a malformed individual command: submitting alternate templates or credentials will not make the device process work.
What to collect
- Capture the earlier TPM/firmware events and the first failure result; later commands may only repeat this status.
- Use the platform’s supported TPM diagnostics and firmware recovery process; avoid raw writes to TPM state or firmware.
- Check whether the result came from
TPM2_GetTestResult, where the specification permits this status as test output.
