STATUS_GRAPHICS_VIDPN_MODALITY_NOT_SUPPORTED
Compatibility of the whole configuration
A VidPN modality combines topology, pinned source and target modes, and path transformations such as scaling and rotation. This status means that at least part of that combination cannot coexist, even when the individual IDs and modes are valid on their own.
For example, two pinned modes can demand an incompatible use of the same display engine, timing generator, bandwidth budget, or encoder. The correct analysis compares the complete constrained modality, not a list of independently supported resolutions.
How to isolate the conflicting constraint
- Identify every pinned source mode, target mode, scaling choice, rotation, color basis, and clone path.
- Unpin or simplify one constraint at a time and re-run cofunctional enumeration.
- Preserve the distinction between a modality conflict and an invalid mode descriptor.
